Saving and Publishing
An adorable and colourful video game for all ages being made by a husband and wife team.
Our game is focused on a local co-op experience, with the option to play as a single player. The ship in the game is split into two colours, pink and blue. Each player will be either the pink or the blue half of the ship and the controls swap between the players as they move through the environment. For example player 1(pink) controls where the ship moves in the air and player two(blue) will shoot blue bullets. When the ship flies into water, the controls will swap. Player two will now be controlling the ships movement and player one will shoot pink bullets.
The goal of the game is to work your way through the environment together and find the monsters that are destroying your world.
We believe we have a really great and innovative game that we would love to share with the world. It is a fun experience that can be enjoyed by couples, families, friends and even the solo gamer. We want to proudly represent Australia overseas and show that Canberra has an exciting game development scene.
In order to have a successful release, we need to promote our game the best we can. The most effective way to do this is to get our game into the hands of indie game lovers all over the world, including gaming media.
We have been accepted to show our game at the Indie Arena Booth at Gamescom in Germany and plan to go to PAX Australia, and PAX East in the United States. Even though we are doing everything as inexpensively as possible, all of this traveling and booth space can take a financial toll. We would use the grant money to pay for accommodation and help pay for booth space at these events.
If we are successful with ‘The Incredible Journey of You and I’ we will continue to make more games and with each game try to contribute something new and creative to the games industry. We hope to eventually collaborate with other developers and possibly in the distant future grow the studio into something bigger.
