Develop a collective of local design and fabrication artisans to create affordable sets, props and costumes for cosplay, stage and screen.
For the past 15 years, SiGiL worx has provided affordable and exciting sets, props and costumes for local and international cosplay, theatre and filmmaking communities. We’ve worked with Canberra based productions from serious theatre, Magus Productions, Canberra Repertoire Society, St Claire’s College, and SiGiL film to new a few.
We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our recent exposure at GammaCon 2017. The subsequent enquiries and interest from potential customers has motivated us to expand our workshop capabilities and bring our wares to fans and thespians everywhere.
With additional funding we plan to develop the capabilities of our workshop and build upon our collective of local design and fabrication artisans.
Our team can produce items as small as a broach or a bag of bottle caps, and as large as a sci-fi corridor set. Or if you’re an artist looking for the tools to help realise your own designs we can help bring your prototypes to life.
Our motto is, “Props and costumes for stage and screen… or just because”.
If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I’d really like a flashy light thingy in a fluffy owl toy with a SteamPunk monocle”, or “I need a glowing box that puffs smoke for my stage play”, or even “That gun from my favourite FPS game would look awesome sitting on my shelf” – we can help realise your dreams.
We are a local collective of artists, who spend what little spare time we have, making the world more fun. With further assistance we can invest in tools that help our workshop better support the performing arts communities that are often so underappreciated.
We are very keen to add a stencil cutter to our workshop. At the moment it is one of the few tools that we lack that will greatly increase the quality of our finished works.
SiGiLworx is committed to providing affordable props and costumes. Any profits gained through our various commissions and sales are fed directly back into the collective to purchase tools and materials for our next great work. As we expand the capabilities of our workshop we’ll be able to offer even more advice and inexpensive services to other local artists looking for assistance in creating their own products.
