Workshops and events-based community engaging with youth in collaboration with industry to develop innovative technology projects
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) related topics have escalated in the recent years and there has been a big push to promote and inspire the youth into this field. University students across Canberra have come together to build the project ‘Control N’ where we would directly contribute to this movement by hosting technology/coding-based workshops and events for high school students.
In these workshops, students explore new technologies and are encouraged to think creatively to develop their own innovative projects. Students will be exposed to the endless possibilities of how we can address issues through technology. Control N students will learn and gain skills from industry-experienced mentors and university students.
By supporting this project, high school students, university students and industry professionals can engage, gain a network and work collaboratively on new technologies. You would also be supporting the team of university students behind this project who are working hard to make this happen.
Funding is needed to help cover costs of establishing Control N as an organisation, future venues, equipment to use as learning tools and to reduce costs for students looking to participate in the upcoming events.
Control N aspires to reflect a diverse community of people who have a passion for technology and innovation. Taking steps towards this includes catering to a wider age range as well as supporting underrepresented communities. Excess money would go towards continuing and improving our future workshops and events.
