We source locally made goods for you. @madeincbr
\\Hey! (I’m lach)
I’m starting an instagram feed for discovering goods Made in Canberra. @cbr.made
This project started when my last pair of pants wore out. I needed to get some more but I had no idea where to buy a pair of pants made within 50km of my home. Trying to buy pants made me realise that there isn’t actually a place to go if I want to find things that have been made locally.
So I decided that I’m going to build that place, and I’m starting small with an instragram to learn what people want from a “local directory”
This might end up like a local etsy, it might be a blog or it might be a video documentary series. It really depends how YOU use the instagram.
I’m doing this because I really believe in supporting local makers. They add meaning to my life by creating beautiful things, things with soul. And because of makers I have an alternative to buying my clothes from cotton on or my eggs from a battery farm. They enhance my life. I want to promote them so they can make a living doing what they do. Help me support them (& discover really cool stuff along the way.)
50% – Legal Structure (Because I’m going to be promoting & selling makers products for them I’ll need to have a legal structure in place to operate as a business)
50% – Project development & marketing
This instagram feed is simply a TEST RUN to see how much demand there is for local products. If you’re a supporter, then what YOU find most valuable about CBR.MADE will ultimately determine where it goes next.
If you love hearing the stories about the local makers then CBR.MADE might develop into a video documentary series.
Alternatively if the main reason you support CBR.MADE is because you want to know about the products near you then I’ll build a marketplace for finding ALL the local products nearby with a quick search.
That’s what this is about. To find out what you find useful (Let me know) ?
