Bespoke Beans

“Good Coffee” is relative, and with Bespoke Beans, you choose the roast, origin and flavours to create a personalised taste just for you.

  • Season 02 Project  with 15 Supporters

By sourcing green beans from fair trade producers, Bespoke Beans will first roast several sample coffees, and then provide customers with the opportunity to mix and match roasting variables and create their own personal flavour. Bespoke Coffee will help customers refine their flavour by taking on comments and suggesting ways to adapt the roast to gain the flavour they want. Initially I am seeking to expand organically through my personal network and possibly market stalls, with intent to move into social media and a mail order website in the future.

Why you should support
Bespoke Beans?

My idea is simple and easy to start. Many customers I have spoken to are excited to be able to craft their taste, and also use personalised coffee as a gift. The project will also help to educate people about coffee and it’s flavours. I will also be selecting the green beans carefully to ensure they are fair trade.

Which resources do you need for the project?

I will use the money to purchase a proper coffee roaster which can do larger batches and with greater consistency (~$600). I will also use it to buy several different types of green beans so I can begin finding a good source (~$200). The remaining $200 will be used for an ABN and account set up fees.

Where will Bespoke Beans
go in the future?

In the future, the project will become a mail order service, where people can request certain properties and have a batch mailed to them anywhere in Australia. Potential future revenue can be used to improve the efficiency of the roasting process and provide the service to a wider range of people. Personally, I am excited at the prospect of learning more about roasting, and sharing my passion with others, and drinking some delicious coffee along the way!
